Summary
This real life Eastender, who was born in Bethnal Green on 8th March 1954 seems tireless. Her bubbly personality was evident even in the early days of top band Bucks Fizz when they won the Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin. They went on to gain world-wide recognition with a string of hit records like "Land of Make Believe", "My Camera Never Lies" and of course "Making your Mind Up"

From 1984 her popularity as a solo artiste, together with her work with Bucks Fizz (with over 20 top selling singles including three number ones) meant that the demands on her time often found her working eighteen hours a day. So, at the end of 1993, Cheryl stepped down from Bucks Fizz after twelve years to concentrate on her solo career.

In 1984 just prior to the horrific Bucks Fizz coach crash in Newcastle , Cheryl was asked by Tyne Tees Television to present a Children's show called "How Dare You?" That led to an invitation from LWT to co-present "The Saturday 6 O'clock Show" with Michael Aspel which really set the TV presenting ball rolling. In 1986 she presented 22 episodes of "The Saturday Picture Show" and starred in the title role of Central TV's Christmas Day production of "Cinderella" Next came "The Funny Side" giving Cheryl her first Saturday night network television show and the opportunity to combine her two loves, singing and presenting. The following year Cheryl presented another Saturday Night network Show "My Secret Desire". 1989 was the first year of her BBC1 cookery/pop programme titled "Eggs 'n' Baker the series became so successful that it ran for five years. This series was the prelude to a number of cookery or food programmes with which Cheryl has been involved including "The Survival Guide to Food" and "Good Morning with Anne and Nick" where she appeared for some time as the resident cook. In 1998 she was seen as guest cook on Cable TV's Food Network Show.
Cheryl is well known for her love of animals. She co-presented two series of "Superdogs" with Peter Purves" for ITV and hosted her own show "Walking the Dog" for BBC. She is perhaps best loved for presenting the cult TV programme Record Breakers which she presented for eleven years. In October 1992 Cheryl recorded and released her own solo singe "Sensuality". She regularly contributes tracks to many compilation albums, the latest of which is Mike Nolan's new Bucks Fizz album. She also sang the role of Janet on "The Rocky Horror Show" album.

She has starred in many pantomimes, her first being at the London Palladium in "Babes in the Wood" as Maid Marion. She took the title role in the Central Television production of "Cinderella". Polly Perkins in "Robinson Crusoe", Dick Whittington in "Dick Whittington" and Aladdin in "Aladdin".
